I received my bachelor's degree in English Literature at the Univ. of Delaware and went on to master's of science degree in English Education at the City University of New York. My doctoral research work explored the ways that homeschool parents network and support each other to achieve individualized educational outcomes.
My undergraduate work included honors civil engineering, and I have personal experience in competitive college admissions, earning acceptlance to Brown University and early action admission to the class of ‘99 at MIT.
I have been working as an urban educator in New York City and Connecticut for the past 20 years. I am continually involved with current developments in education as a full time educator. Each year, I attend a variety of webinars and conferences to better help my clients with tailoring education programs the admission process, and working with school leaders to develop curriculum and improve educational outcomes for students and implement educator support and professional development.
When I'm not working with clients and within schools, I enjoy sailing on Long Island Sound out of New Haven Harbor with my wife two teenage sons on our 50 year old cruising sloop. Hiking, yoga, kayaking, backwoods camping, and long distance bicycle touring all keep me connected to nature and to America’s great outdoors.
I have the honor of having served as a deacon at the First United Church of Christ in Milford, Conn. and currently serve as vice moderator of the board. I enjoy singing in the choir and am excited to see my son pursue a career as a pipe organist.
I enjoy the performing arts; my wife works in the opera and classical music business and I play electric and upright basses in an actively gigging band as my creative outlet.
